Congratulations!! My name is Amy I adopted my Karina from Ust, Kazakhstan and arrived home in April of 2008. I just found your blog today. I wanted to introduce myself and offer myself and my experiences to you regarding older child adoption. The first three months with Karina were really hard for me, the next three months were better but still pretty hard. The nine month mark felt markedly better and the one year mark was completely different. I have been through a lot with my Karina from hitting, scratching, biting, you name it. I would love to chat with you if you would like if you ever need to talk to someone who has been through the same thing. My email is AMSharify@aol.com or AMSharify@gmail.com. The first twelve weeks home can be hard...take care of yourself and try and get some scheduled time every day when you can just be gone for an hour by yourself...even if it is to just drive around.
