Sasha and Masha started school today. They were both very excited and happy to go to school. The small issue came up when I said goodbye to Masha and she decided I should not leave her.
Sasha was a bit hesitant also. I can only imagine going to a new place where there are a bunch of kids you have never seen before (and of course most of them know each other) and everyone is speaking a language you are still trying to learn and you are in this environment that all you have to compare it to is the orphanage you recently left. THAT'S A LOT! I lurked around for about 30 min. after which they seemed fine. I hope we were able to reassure them they would be home everyday after school. Thankfully, it is only a 1/2 day of school. I will probably be a wreck by noon worrying that everything is OK.........

Hi Kari,
You've got the first step right, acknowledging and anticipating what they may be feeling with all the changes. I'll bet they will really enjoy playing/interacting with the other children.
Just an idea, do you have a translator that could come over or call them after school so they can "download" all the details of their busy day?
